I have purchased MAC solenoid for EBC, I have microsquirt ECU. I have searched and have not found much info on this subject. Is there benefits or is it a waste of time. What I am I wanting to accomplish? Better control over boost than MBC and boost come in little quicker. I understand how to set it up and configure it in tunerstudio. Any advice will be appreciated.

If it's a 3-port MAC valve, it won't bring in boost really any sooner than a good MBC (non-bleed type).

The benefit of the EBC is that you can add in boost as power falls, or change boost pressure depending on the situation (rain setting, traction control, boost by gear, all sorts of fun stuff).

Keep the MBC, it's simple, it's easy to change, and it works well for a single max boost setting.

I don't know if it was ever fixed, but my first experience with MegaSquirt II was on the bench testing it with a JimStim and a syringe connected to the MAP sensor. The Boost control algorithm had a major bug, specifically, the desired boost setpoint would change if over-boosted in certain ways. I tried emailing with the DIYautotune folks, but they obviously didn't understand control theory and how PID loops should work. I'm not sure if it was the original designers responding, or an intermediary - they knew just enough to be dangerous. They rightly said that the max boost safety settings would prevent issues, but that's sort of like saying to not worry about the brake fade since the airbags will save you.

I never used closed loop boost control on ms2, however, using the dutycycle for load/rpm table gave me good, consistent results.
