1993 Volvo 240 Wagon Automatic to manual swapping using this 1981 BMW 633 CSI Getreg 265/6 5 speed transmission.

I have the following. What else do I need? The BMW has an entirely different shifter assembly. It looks like the Getreg has a master cylinder on the side of it.

I have the following:
Getreg
M46 bell housing
STS Machining Adapter Plate Kit

I also have a full M47 swap. Before I sell that as a kit, do I need any of the part like cross member or driveshaft? Or can I use an automatic drive shaft to get shortened/ lengthened?

Been looking online. This is a good resource below. I just don’t want to shoot myself in the foot by Selling the full m47 kit.

I am going into this blind. Never done an upgrade like this.

Do you have a spare redblock to set up the clutch, etc. out of the car?

I put a Getrag 265 in my 242 in 2013--there should be info about it in my project thread, linked in my signature. I still have it in the car but it's behind a whiteblock now so things changed slightly and I don't recall off the top of my head everything I did for redblock vs whiteblock.

Do you have the shift linkage and bracket from the 635? If so, you can modify that to fit. BMW shift linkage is a lot better than the Volvo stuff in my opinion.

You'll need the m47 driveshaft. M47 front driveshaft has the same flange as the trans. Use a BMW E34 M5 giubo/flex disc with it (it's thicker than the Volvo one).

IIRC, I liked the combo of a 240mm Saab 9000 aero pressure plate, Sachs E34 M5 clutch disc, and flat flywheel (you will need to shim the pressure plate to be correctly preloaded). At the time I was using a cable clutch and it was fine.

Ok. Great info. I will check out the link and also upload a photo of the transmission here. I belief it has all the shifter linkage.

If I have a cut off piece of an m46 drive shaft with the guibo, can I get that welded to an auto driveshaft and made to the right size. I have like 4 auto drive shafts laying here.

The bmw shifter location should be in the right spot for using that in the 240. In my 740 I used it but moved it back a couple inches. For the tranny mount I used the back two bottom bolts on the getrag in the center and bolted an angled bracket onto those and then down to the flat style 740 cross member.
