I just thought I'd let you guys know about Mitchell service manuals. They were electrical diagram manuals for cars published back in the day as thick reference manuals. So you would buy the manual for the years you want to service. It would have only wiring diagrams for many different cars. There are import and domestic reference manuals printed every year till early 2k? when they probably switched to DVD or something.

The thing is our cars are old so get a Michell reference guide as that was the standard of the day. They used to be cheap on ebay. Just look up your year. Here is my search for 1991 import car manuals on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...=mitchell+manual+1991+import+cars&_sacat=6000
Even the most expensive is less than 50$ and you have easy to read diagrams for your Volvo and most other import cars of those years.

I posted that because lots of wiring questions lately. Sometimes it's impossible to find a print green book like what I need for my 91 wagon.
its all online, a binder and a reem of paper is like $12.

When in doubt just add a shitton of new grounds

Mostly all of the Mitchell On Demand is online with NAPA
go check out Tech section, at least with account in Canada I have them.
All Data is also an excellent $30/hr they will e-mail or fax the wiring.

Where did the Green Book site go to, as I have the greens for my vehicles I haven’t looked in years. Will be saved on an old computer.

I have those books. They are great for those of us who work on lots of different cars. Books always work, and I can find the info immediately.
As a comparison to Mitchell on demand (we use shopkey pro), the shopkey has some color diagrams. Shopkey has the worst menus and interface for printing in the business. And Shopkey will sometimes either give you the wrong info, and sometimes just doesn't have info.
But mostly it's ok. I really miss Alldata, but they became incompatible with our school, and refused to make it right. I called recently to see if they had finally gone to a username/password system, and never found out. I did learn that the price had almost tripled.
So. I, too recommend the wiring books, even if they take up space and rarely get used.

Years ago someone did a dyno before and after adding a ton of engine grounds on an 850 and it gained some horsepower
manufacturers don't do more grounds because assembly line prefabbed harnesses need to get slapped in in 4.7 seconds. Go look at old car harnesses. There's grounds everywhere (except Lucas)

An old VW has more grounds than wires. bridge grounds. engine grounds.
our volvo engines have that wierd ground on the head of cyl4.

Mitchell service manuals.
Back in the 1980s, they had complete service manuals. The whole kit and kaboodle, if all booklets were bought. Transmissions, electrical, vehicle maintenance, etc.

Example: 1980 Imported Cars & Trucks Tune-Up Mechanical Service and Repair (Mitchell Manuals National Service Data) Hardcover

They were excellent reference materials, and explained the new tech, I said, explained.

Back then, they had salespeople who sold these manuals.

"Mitchell Repair Information Co LLC, doing business as Mitchell1, is a subsidiary of Snap-On Incorporated that provides proprietary automotive repair estimating software and databases to the automotive industry."
