Hey Sport! I need a car - 2006 V70R - dads first Volvo

There is no such thing in this hell hole of a state
Very true.

I typically don't have much issues since I typically smog cars that are considered closer to stock, while the rest of my shit ends up a full blown race car or in extreme cases, gets a Montana plate.

I've heard of people failing even for aftermarket TCV's on P2R's, so I went as far as to mask the iPD logo on it yesterday. Also have heard of silicone couplers failing for various reasons, so I masked/removed the printed aftermarket logos from every single one.

Well, minor issues

I took it for some long freeway driving tonight and did some fuel consumption numbers and to just play with the car, and when heavily romped [my first time going 3/4 or more throttle] it's spiking to 25 psi before it settles to 18-20. Seems fine...so far. It moves around more than enough at half throttle with no boost issues so I am just gonna tell my dad to keep it there.

I am doing a few things to the car next week and my first step will be replacing the CBV. I swapped it from the old turbo. I am also debating switching the iPD TCV to a stock unit.
- The new 4C shocks I installed rode like shit and constantly felt like they bottomed out on these hard mountain roads. I should have swapped to coilovers instead.
This also presented itself. I drove to In N Out in Monterey to simulate his usual commute that direction and parts of Highway 1 have some decent ruts. I had some sudden cringe moments hitting some. It's weird because it goes from pretty nice on smooth roads to almost as bad as my 855 on D2 coilovers once its more than slightly rough.

Yeah, it's such a bummer! they ride really well most of the time, until you hit a sudden bump like an expansion joint. then all of a sudden it's like the dashboard violently shakes, like a full bottom-out. I think I read that if the sensors see the travel moving too quickly too fast, they go to full stiff to prevent them from bottoming out and damaging the valves. But the effect is basically the same feeling as actually bottoming out! It just happens at far less travel than you'd expect so it's pretty jarring.

Yeah, I definitely yelled holy shit when I hit that first rutty patch

I got my 2001 XC70 from 20 mpg (average) all the way up to almost 29mpg hwy by driving at about 63 mph.

If I drive at around 2200 rpms and just over 60 mph with cruise control in the slow lane I am getting about 26+mpg consistently. I am driving up and down the high plains of the West Texas Panhandle thru flat farm country.
