I wanted to upgrade my sound system while keeping everything relatively hidden. I mounted the amps under the rear storage tray.

I may have to install some fans just to move the heat off, I may cut in some of those heat register vents like this too

Just wanted to share my work

Nice. Heat would worry me. Maybe that vent + a couple of small PC cooling fans? Or two of those small vents you see near the bottom of your photo, with a "puller" and "pusher" fan on each.

My guy installed one of these bad boys: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-lym6RxeqRht/p_575P30010T/Rockford-Fosgate-P300-10T.html to the left of this space, up against the back of the seat. It has a rubber floor cover, and I wanted to use all the space back there in a pinch, so it is attached to the rubber and the back of the rear seat with Velcro. Doesn't budge.

Your install looks fantastic.

I did something very similar in my 940 wagon, except inverted and used a board across the bottom. I did have to remove that metal reinforcement bar on the underside of the tray so it closed flush. Ran x2 12" subs and re-routed all the speaker wiring to their respective side. Ignore the sunburnt rockville amp; it used to be black until I left it mounted on the side of the sub box in the sun...

This is what it looks like now since it's going in my 744's trunk... pretty sad I have to downgrade to a single 10". It's gonna be a PITA if I ever have to access the fuel sending unit.
