hurrry, need to know speaker size on 740.

My 760 only has rear parcel shelf speakers but not rear door ones. The door grilles are there tho. Are there speaker wires wired inside rear doors?

I doubt that there will be wires to the rear doors from the factory/dealer if there are (or were) no speakers in the rear doors.
 
I've had two 240s and one 740 that I've installed stereo systems in, none of the three had rear speakers stock, but all had wiring for it from the factory.
 
my '89 745 GLE 16v had rear speakers in the doors (no back deck ya?) but again I'd recommend pulling the wires all around and putting in some thicker guage new stuff. (besides it's a challenge to run new wire through those door looms no?)

I stand corrected :)

Seems odd to put wiring in for an item not included as standard. But I suppose that manufacturers have done more odd things in the past.

odd, what year? i know the late model cars were wired for everything weither they had it it not.

in the later years volvo got smart and wired all of the cars for every option so there is miles of extra wiring in most late model cars
 
running wire throught the door's side would be a challenge, even if there's wire in rear doors. It don't even know where it would stem from...

On my 90 i have 6.5" in the front doors and i have 5.25" in the back doors. As far as mounting debth i figure you can always add spacersto bring it out enough... you could have some neat setups tho if you use the four door locations, the dash and the rear package shelf.. i think i'd go for 6.5" components in the front doors, 6.5" mid drives in the rear doors, 6x9" on the shelf, and some 4"? or good tweeters in the dash.. then a sub or few..lol
