I probably have access to what you need if you head to Santa RosaAnyone know of a shop in San Francisco, Ca with a hydraulic press for 240 rear wheel bearing?
No shops in the City under "automotive machine shop" that I can find. All of the industrial areas have been cleaned out. Maybe a repair shop but they don't advertise their equipment. I may have to just start calling around.Any respectable auto machine shop will have a press capable of pressing the rear bearings.
I'm sure it would but I don't have a shop or garage.Shouldn't a Harbor Freight 12T suffice? I know they are enough for a 4runner/Tacoma
Thanks very much for the offer but with the car disabled I don't have transportation out of the city.I probably have access to what you need if you head to Santa Rosa
Anyone that will do an engine rebuild or suspension work that involves replacing bushings should have access to a press. Looks like plenty of options including explicit "machine shops" - but you probably don't even need to go that far. I'd just start with your favorite local mechanic - if they can't do it, they'll know someone who can.No shops in the City under "automotive machine shop" that I can find. Mine is in the kitchen; I thought that was its standard place. And, it fits the trunk of a 740 sedanI'm sure it would but I don't have a shop or garage.
Buy it, set it up on the back porch for a day or two, return the press to HF when done. It's a glorified bottle jack, doesn't really need to be bolted down.I'm sure it would but I don't have a shop or garage.
