Intercooler on a B21ET performance data

hi everybody, glad I found this site as I am stuck with the ceritification of my Volvo 240 in Austria. The car is a nice 1983 244 Turbo with an Intercooler which I bought in Denmark. I can’t get it registered in Austria as I have no performance data for the upgrade with an Intercooler. I found the Intercooler was offered also by Volvo, in the Volvo brochure it says it is also good for the B21ET. However I was not able to find any performance data for this set up. Can anybody help? I think any setup for the B21ET with an Intercooler would do the trick. Thx

I have the intercooler road test for the US model with intercooler upgrade. It's one of the collections of road tests. Either Car and Driver or Road and Track. I forget which one. If they will accept that performance data I will look it up for you.

This old thread may help too. Some of the original posters are still active.

Isn't it enough to prove in any way that this car came stock with a Turbo engine + Intercooler for Einzelgenehmigung or Typisierung?
Or do you need some actual performance data and if so, what exactly are they asking for?

Actually there was no factory B21ET with intercooler. In Europe intercooler was sold as kit, and it was only for B19ET. (Italy and Finland). The kit is bolt-on B21ET but Volvo didn't gave out any data (power and emissions) for that.

Last B21FT had intercooler but it also had lambda and catalytic converter.

Life is too short to please bureaucrats so I'd just get boost pipe from non-ic car and get your automobile registered.

they need some performance data like kW, max velocity, noise level eventually.

prob correct, however found this. Can’t agree more reg your last statement. I was already three times at the certification body to get it approved. Wheel, steering wheel, etc to be changed

I looked up the listed B21ET part number and it's one of the special 240 Turbo Group A parts. DO88 makes a replica:

Dear all, what a great community! Thanks for all the valuable inputs. Seems there is little room for negotiations with the cert body. So I think I take the IC out, Btw it seems it is not even an original but a DO88.
