LH3.1 replacement MAFs

As somebody with an LH3.1 240 ive long read that it is an inferior system for any sort of modification to LH2.4 because of the low ceiling of the early stock hot film MAF volvo used, even to the point that a cam swap could make enough of a difference to be above the ceiling of what the original maf is capable of reading. Of course M cams are for losers and even before I had my driver's license I shoved an A cam from a boat engine in my car, this seemed to work okay until the stock maf mysteriously failed somewhere around 5000rpm leaving a service plaza merging back onto the highway in 2023, since then I have had a mystery aftermarket maf and now a Delphi replacement from Rockauto in the car and changed to a VX3 cam, in the probably 35,000 miles now of driving the car I've never noticed a hesitation at high rpm outside of what youd expect from a car making 100whp. I dont have the ability to test mafs or look inside an LH3.1 ecu so my question is if anyone knows or can test if whatever off the shelf (i assume) parts are in the new replacement mafs are capable of reading more airflow and thus raise the performance ceiling of the entire system, ive never had issues with the LH3.1 in my car and the 850 shared tps and brand new $90 maf sensor that works fine (things LH2.4 owners can only dream of) are sure handy
 
The LH2.4 and LH3.1 ECU chips are mapped to the full MAF range - there's not any extra/unused range available in the maps. Changing to a MAF with a bigger range would need new chips re-mapped to the new MAF.

Edit: I looked through my notes and found the following maf flow ratings:
LH2.4 B230/B230FT uses the 0 280 212 016 maf, rated at 480 kg/hr
LH2.4 B204FT uses the 0 280 213 012 maf, rated at 640 kg/hr
LH3.1 B230F uses 0 280 217 001, ~370 kg/hr

So the LH3.1 MAF is good for only ~80% of the standard LH2.4 '016 MAF flow rate.

I heard theres some guy who makes chips for them now, not sure if hes any good tho...
 
370kg/hr is about 180 cfm. With an N/A application, you'll be hard-pressed to challenge that.

I'm not saying you couldn't, but your cylinder head becomes a restriction before that. Mill for compression and add a camshaft to your heart's content.

I know there are chips for 3.1, I don't know what ignition system they use or if there are chips for that, and that's where the heavy lifting occurs.

Its normal ezk, im pretty sure its all the same stuff as LH2.4 I read the number off it awhile ago but ive since forgot, pink label computer
 
When I was shopping ebay for generic maf for 3.1. They listed the application as fitting some kind of Dodge V6. That should draw a bit more air than our engines. My plan is to use the remaining V15 n/a on the shelf and add in RBP chips. I also have a chipped EZK from Simon. I wasn't going to change injectors but will consider them if it could help. Maybe something like the stock 16v injectors.

I really like LH3.1 now that I've had it for a few years. It runs strong to 5k rpms even with the M cam and the throttle response is better than any LH2.4 car I've had. Keeps up with modern traffic and tries to go to fast on the highway. lol

I havent driven a stock 2.4 stick car but for the 35K or so miles ive had my car ive always wondered why some people act like these are unusably slow cars in modern traffic because for what it is it moves just fine, thanks for the input about the mopar engine ill check if the delphi maf is also listed as fitting another car
