M90 in a 240

Hello guys I'm looking to fit the m90 in to a 240 from what I understand people beat the gear box tunnel ro accommodate it is it that much you have to beat it ideally don't want to cause too much damage as its a really clean shell... dones it need beating all around it or 1 pelartucular area I haven't fitted it yet it'll be over next 2 weeks I'm tackling it

I'm aware on all the parts I was under impression transmission tunnel is smaller on a 240 so I've believed it needs beating to fit it in

No problem fitting a M90 to my 1991 240 here. I suppose if someone made their own bracket that was too tall they might have problems, but there are many conversions M90>240 in the UK with seemingly no issue.

Ahh sound for some reason I seen a tread where they beat bulkhead to fit it like you say maybe mount issue I've got box clutch my mates gonna make prop up just gear box mount I see classic swede does one but I've heard mixed reviews about the company

It is only ok to do that if you are converting to engine mounts like the ASS ones as normal 240 mounts are NOT compatible with the 940 gearbox mount
Hello CS, thank you very much for your advice! Can you please tell me where problems are to be expected with this combination? Thank you very much.

Best Regards, ludi

The 3 240 mounts are angled to push into each other. 940 mounts are not angled to each other but sit vertical. Using a 940 gearbox mount combined with 240 engine mounts will allow the engine to move back over time and cause extra stress on all the mounts

That might be the theory, but they seemed to forget that the engine leans over so far that the right one has much more weight on it. The left one survives fine with any standard mount on a longer arm on the right.
