MaxxECU Questions and Support/Purchase: Post them here

I'm considering a maxxecu swap for my upcoming b21a+t fuel injection conversion, the goals are somewhere in the ball park of 300hp (ideally)
I know very little about engine management, and nothing about the actual wiring (yet)
in terms of luxuries, all I really care about is knock control and mayyyyyyyybe a coil on plug setup (youtube told me to)
what would you recommend in terms of management?
MaxxECU Race.

I love the idea of going aftermarket with my ECU. Still weighing out different options for my eventual +T. LH2.2 is fine, but all the parts are old and getting older. Having off the shelf sensors and actuators available would be fantastic.

Just curious, is the Mini ecu capable of knock count with one of the extra inputs?

Yes, if you use an external knock controller.

Hey,

i asked Engdahl Motorsport whether they would suggest a MAXXEcu with Knocksensors.. he told me, if you need knockcontrol on a redblock you did something completely wrong :D how would you comment this? ;)

Brett, have you ever taken these molex cmc connectors apart? Do you have the pin extraction tools? They're expensive!

There’s a few options for pin removal kits on Amazon. The generic one with 70-80pcs has worked on everything for me so far. I think I’ve only used 4-5 of the tools though.

Mine is fine with a street and no knock control if I ever want to expand capabilities keep this in mind... a knock module, vr conditioner, and pwm module cost as much as a wideband and controller and gauge for a mega squirt setup... which is all built in to maxxecu. The street is for a 6cyl which leaves you with a few spare outputs to play with in addition to these affordable expansions.

Reiterating my question,
What would be a comparable option to something like microsquirt or amp’d microsquirt?
Thanks
Mini would be like that but with more quality components, easier software and better definition for some triggers and the usual maxxecu goodness like internal pull ups their canbus protocols, their traction control, nos control, boost control all nice and easy to use. Keep in mind the mini does not have built in wideband street is the entry level ecu that provides real savings with that feature and more inputs and outputs. Sport is like street with Bluetooth to easily run a tablet dash, sequential and auto trans control, and ethrottle. Couple extra outputs. Step up to race and the options get really crazy.

So the chinese idea of a 109-piece kit is to give you at least 3 of each type of tool :^) Nice little kit of pokey tools, but I couldn't get any to really work with the connector. I'm just gonna get the real tools.
