I've wanted this wagon for a long time and finally worked a deal with Kyle. Bought, not built? Finished, not started... ;)

Alright so here's an update

Got some new rims made by Gedeichselt on IG. It's a shop out of Poland that take stock steel wheel centers, and mates them to 3 piece lips and barrels. Pretty cool process, and they do really nice work. I ordered them with white centers, gold hardware, in 17x8 all around. I bought some Bridgestone Potenza 205/45R17 which fit nicely.

Put them on the car and oh boy...

I wanted to go with the early style hub cap, so I ordered a set from VP not knowing that they wouldn't fit on the late wheels

So I returned those and ordered a set of the late caps. I didn't want to use the black decals that outline the "V" so I played around with a few colors. First I tried white. I ordered some 3m white vinyl and cut out a decal by hand.

Wasn't really feeling it so I thought about gold and did a little phone photoshop to see what that'd look like. Wasn't feeling that either

So tried red and bingo

I ordered some red 3m vinyl and had to cut out eat one by hand

Also ordered an original wood slated roof rack from Nordicar

The slates came raw so I ordered some boat sealer and slicked them out and water proofed them

Laid everything out and got everything bolted together

Some parts needed persuasion

And done

The bolts they provided to fasten it to the sides are too long and would have damaged the drip rail molding, so I had to get shorter bolts

I might be pulling mine off for some re-design… maybe I can model and print a mockup.

They wouldn’t fit behind stock 15s due to interference with the barrel, but with a 17” barrel… they just might fit.
