I was thinking about doing the Dragon in the rental Corolla GR, but there have been so many line-crossing ding-dongs lately, I'm concerned about taking a rental there.

What time do you think you'd be hitting the Dragon? I might ride up there from the Lodge and meet you at the entrance.
 
Google says around 2 hours from Sweetwater via Cherohala Skyway to the start of the Dragon. I've got nothing to do but drive in the morning so I'd probably get there at 9:30, 10AM Thursday?

our plan is to roll out weds.. hopefully early and event-free. the younger child has already been practicing derailing this year's trip: fell all the way down the damn steps last night but fortunately didn't snag a baluster on the way down, so no major trauma just a couple scrapes and probably interesting looking bruises...


I'll be hitting the costco today after lunch for the bulk of the boil supplies. do I need to bring any eggs? I'll bring some eggs. got a shitload of them.
Will try and bottle some honey but no promises there.
 
I have these feathery things roaming around the backyard that create them on a daily basis, it's not a thing :-D

got everything but the skrimps for the boil, will get them teusday morning and hopefully get them frozen for the trip overnight. its startin' to come together!
 
I was scrubbing coolers yesterday and the handle ripped off of one which was my last straw.

I lost my tent for a while, but in looking for it i found the missing television.
And i have acquired snacks, some beer, and two pillows for those flying in to Asheville.
All Set.
 
Still need to buy some beer. Kind of funny, if you go by Total Wine during the middle of a weekday, there's a whole different crowd in there. After work and on weekends, it's all the amateurs. During the workday - it's the professional drinkers.
 
I canceled the college class for Thursday, but I can’t get out of “back to school night” Thursday night or my principal will kill me.

The plan is to leave Thursday night around 8 o’clock after work and drive until until I hit I-81 in VA, then finish the trip Friday morning.

I will bring cash for food. Hopefully there’s a spot left in the grass for the tent . It will be really great to see everybody again.

I picked up a variety pack of kraut beer from costco... and then realized I couldn't get it in the fridge. so those will probably make the trip. At this point, whenever I fillup to depart I'll probably just get another case or two of canned water coors lattes from costco as well and call it good.

these next two days are going to be tough man. lol
 
anyone in the p2 world want some random shit? I think I have strut mounts, a tail light, and some other errata left over from mine.

also, propane tank count? do I need to grab one on the way out? I can (And will) fit the spare burner in the audi, I can probably spit on matt and get another tank in the car.
 
also will totally maybe possibly look at tunes (yall know that's a touch and go thing... but yall also know I'm down :-D ) but bring your laptop, I'm not bringing the t00ner laptop.
 
I mostly loaded the wrx last night. Put beer and ice in one of the coolers after work, and on my way home heard a new and distinct 5th gear noise.
Should i put the last 9,600 miles on my way to half a million using 1 through 4? Oh. And 3rd has been noisy a while.
