MountainMeet 2026: September 2-7, the Labor Day Edition

Where is this again? If I remember correctly it’s in western NC? So maybe 5 hours drive? If so, I should be able to make it. Would love to meet some of the folks I’ve talked to online for over a decade. Early September is better for me. I have a fishing trip in Wyoming planned for late September.

Balsam Lake Lodge, in between Cullowhee and Waynesville NC.

Where are you at?

Maybe this is the year I get organized, get time off work, REALLY get organized, and make the necessary preparations to make pizza(s, plural) at the lodge. Maybe Wednesday night? How many people show up night 1?

Loosely based on Detroit-style, uses a focaccia recipe I've made a bunch of times as a full sheet-pan sized focaccia, but scaled down to fit the smaller brownie pan I use for this pizza. it's an easy dough to make, no machine needed, just put the ingredients together ~12-16hr before you want pizza.

First night is usually 4-6 people. That may work well.

If that oven won’t chooch we can just put somebody’s car on the chip and the pizza on the exhaust manifold.
