Im running typical Plus T Redblock. I wired up the MS2 running stock coil and distributor with 60-2 sensor with the factory amplifier. I want to go to wasted spark for numerous reasons. Can someone walk me thru the install or have wire diagram? Also Id like to get my tach hooked up too. I have the VW Jetta coil and Im gonna build my spark plug wires. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have a MicroSquirt, or MS2? And which MS2 version - MS2V3.00 circuit board with through-hole components or MS2V3.57 board with surface mount components?
What MS output are you using for spark now? JS10?
There's a couple sections in the hardware manual for wasted spark setup - see 5.3.1.4 for wiring Spark A,B from the LEDs, and 5.3.2 for the Jetta coil

For tach, some folks have been successful using just a 12volt output from the MS (IAC1A or IAC2A outputs). Otherwise, you'll need to use a gutted cube relay to boost the signal - https://turbobricks.com/index.php?threads/tach-output-on-ms-3-57-msii.317529/. Or you can buy a tach signal booster from DIYautotune $65 https://diyautotune.com/products/axm-100-high-voltage-tach-adapter

ok, sorry for the confusion. I have microsquirt, unsure what Im using out of the microsquirt for spark. Seems like VR wires? Been a few yrs but I can trace them back. My setup is using 60-2 cps, distributor, coil and the power stage. If that makes sense, I hope. I will read up on the MS manual, was hoping to find a diagram. Ived searched but seems to all over the place so Im not confident in what I can find.

OK, setting up MicroSquirt for wasted spark is easy. You're already using the IGNOUT1 (Spark A) wire for your powerstage. You need to move that to the Jetta coil, then find the IGNOUT2 (Spark B) wire and connect that to the Jetta coil too. Wire +12v from your main relay and a ground to the coil, and you're done. See pg 63 of: http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/Microsquirt_Hardware-3.4.pdf

For tach, try temporarily connecting the MicroSquirt Tach wire directly to the tachometer and see if it works OK. If not, you'll need to build the transistor and gutted cube relay circuit, or buy the DIYautotune tach booster box.

yeh, I can do that with no problem. I assume the power stage, distributor and the coil gets deleted? Also, I assume I go into the tuner app and change settings to wasted spark. I appreciate your help.

Yes, power stage and distributor go away. The powerstage IGNOUT1, +12v, and ground wires can be moved to the Jetta coil, or redone if needed.

In TunerStudio for MicroSquirt, you just change the number of coils from 1 to Wasted spark and that's it. MS will then automatically use IGNOUT1 and IGNOUT2.

Well just finished the swap, all is good. Car starts way better. Drove around a little, this was an easy mod, hardest part getting rid of the old power module and wire that is not needed. Thanks for the help.
