NA performance? Look here.

Just to add it, here's how to make solid N/A power 250 crank with good driveability.

Especially for cams there's so much more in life :p

This is how you get throttle response.
Great insights! I've been exploring different performance techniques for my NA setup and this post really adds value. Anyone have experience with optimizing throttle response in particular?

Hi my car is 1990 240 glt running a stock B230E with AW71 it came with a VX3 cam in it, probably the previous owner changed the cam before i purchase the car it feels heavy on the low end, after i read couple of threads in the forums i suspect its the cam but im not sure can anyone help or suggest what cam should i use.

Thanks
A 1990 B230E would have come with the VX3 from the factory, no? Double check your cam timing and valve adjustment (0.4-0.45mm/0.016-0.018”) make sure the injectors are clean and do an overnight piston soak to make sure the rings are gummed up.

It’s also maybe normal, have you driven other 240s?

Yes, they take well to the extra and cool air. It is at the expense of fuel mileage in cooler weather though as the car takes longer to warm up. How much so? I don’t care to find out.

I also run a 82C thermostat all year so a bit longer warmup is a normal thing for me. Just the fuel mileage difference between my turbo and any LH car is a win. Right now I'm also discovering that LH3.1 runs well without an O2 sensor as I haven't installed the converter yet. That's getting done soon after the hurricane remnant weather goes away.

Ugh. I just spent the last hour editing the first post because it ended up being too long for the new forum's maximum character count. I added a little info to the staged work, shortened a lot of it, and then thought it was fine but the links took up too much space so they're in the post a couple down from the start that I reserved for dyno plots. They're all dead anyway aside from the stealthFTI's page... That'll be some work to update if I ever do.
