Need HVAC resistor advice

I'm advancing the [very slow] restoration of my 245's interior. The interior was gutted forward of the rear seat. Minor floor rust repaired, some alterations made for engine swap, etc. etc. I also took the time to install a new heater core and evaporator core as well as a new blower motor and resistor (the old motor was noisy when running and turned on inconsistently). I'm getting near to reinstalling the dash so I decided to test the blower motor. At first everything was as expected- all speeds accounted for. Then I turned the switch off and went up through the speeds again. No speed three. Then shortly thereafter, I lost speeds one and two, meaning of course, failing resistor. Now all resistance values are in the 2 - 4k ohm range so the resistor I installed is toast. (And I admit- I did the thing I try not to do, I bought the cheapest one from Amazon which was all of maybe $19 at the time.) For what it's worth, the fan switch ohms out fine.

I still have the original resistor and it ohms out just fine. Do I install the original (which I assume is OEM) and call it a day? Or do I buy the "nice one" from IPD or another source? Is there a preferred source on these? I did some searching and there didn't seem to be an agreement on that.

Original ones aren't made anymore. It's all cheaply sourced stuff even the Volvo one nowadays. If the original one is still proper resistance there you have it. Just make sure you install it correctly above the fan motor which puts it in the airflow to cool it off.
