Need radio code for Volvo 240

Same problem here, the radio display says "CODE".
I've tried the radio code form (with fake info) but it replied the car does not require a radio code.

I have a Volvo 240 from 1989 and I think the radio might not be the original. That might explain why it was not recognised when requesting the code.

VIN: yv1244883k1360082.
Radio model: CR-905
Radio serial: vo1090 h6241101a

Is there any way to get the code?

Yes, use the serial number and model number off the radio itself and have the dealer look it up for you.

I tried calling several dealers and they all charge around ?25 and they want me to drive by.
Also heard that it could take 1 or 1,5 weeks before they get the code, and we plan to go on holiday in 5 days :(

Right below the word Volvo there will be a part number. The dealer needs that information also.

I can get the code for you. PM sent.

The SC-811 uses EEPROM, so unfortunately no diodes to calculate a code from (source).
Your best chance is calling a Volvo dealer, or if you're lucky someone on the forums who can request it.
 
Can you help with another one? I've got a 1991 245. The VIN is YV1AA885XM1893739 The dealer says their network is down, but that sounds like they don't want to help.

240 radio code

Hey guys,
I have purchased a 240, imported from Canada and his radio is reading "CODE".
I am from Portugal, and the dealer can't get the code , and i pay 20?....

serial number no. 63234EO151

This is the VIN:

V01510 B3094079B

It is a 1992 240. 2.3
If same one can get me the radio code, I would really appreciate it.

I’d call the dealer but it’s Sunday. Presumably none of you have access to the database right now because it’s Sunday, but worth a shot. Thanks
