Got the NPR intercooler temporarily in the car. Gotta fab some new mounts for it and the radiator, and modify the existing radiator supports.

Picked up a whole bunch of left over shims from work for tig practice. Using one to build a new radiator support since the NPR pushes the intercooler back towards the engine.

Opened up the engine loom and moved the MAF over to the turbo intake. While I was at it I replaced the thick rubber loom with corrugated plastic and heat shrink.

Two of the pins broke while putting the connector back on, so I'll have to replace them.

Gonna build a support for the MAF tomorrow. Currently the wiper fluid tank interferes with the intake. Likely gonna move it or modify it like my brother did on his 244 +t

Big day fabricating a new radiator and intercooler mount. Opted to make a new one from scratch instead of modifying the OEM mounts.
This new one will also help channel the air a bit better through both the rad and intercooler since they ended up being different heights relative to the front core support.

Installed the charge piping today. Will likely have to modify it a little bit once the trans goes in the car and the engine is where it's meant to be. Currently I have a ratchet strap off the back holding it up...

This showed up from STS machining.

What are people doing for rad hoses? This OEM lower hose is too long now that the rad has been pushed back. I'm worried that if I cut it down it will kink.

Finally had time to work on the car. Moved 5 hours away and couldn't take it with me.

Got the clutch and trans in but discovered some issues: the whole powerplant is out of alignment and pointed over to the passenger side. The top of the shifter is hitting the side of the tunnel on the passenger side. On the driver side there's 1-1.25'' of clearance.
I'm using the yoshifab heavy duty engine mounts and drilled out one of the aluminum mounts like is recommended so the stud is in the centre instead of offset like the factory mount. I think I messed something up here and it's causing the issue.

Question for the community: what's the ball park clearance a T5 should have from the trans tunnel to the top of the trans?

Been spending every free moment between Christmas / holiday stuff working on the car.

Heavily modified the stock 240 trans support to work with the T5 and a yoshifab poly mount.

The engine mounts seemed like they settled in and I was able to bolt everything in with zero issues. Didn't have any black paint and all the stores were closed so primer will have to do for now.

Built the down pipe. 3'' from the turbo back, mostly mig welded but did tig a few things. It turned out ok. There was some differences in diameter between different bends in the pipe which is aesthetically disappointing. Thankfully it's under the car and will never be seen :p

It's tucked up as tight to the body as I could get it. Going to drop a hanger off the trans support for the exhaust and finish building the rest at a later date. Hoping to get the car to my buddies shop since he has a tube bender which will make building the rest easier than using pie cuts.

Forgot to add o2 sensor and wideband bungs in the exhaust. Took it off the car and welded those in.

Then spent the rest of the day hooking up sensors and lines.
During this I might have discovered the trans support I built might be to low, putting the engine at more of a slant than stock. Not really surprising tbh since I was just eye balling everything and didn't have measurements from before the car was torn apart. Not sure if this will be an issue?? It might mean the driveshaft and pinion angel is all wrong. I found out when going to install the CPS and could no longer stack socket extensions to get at the bolt. It's now just behind the fire wall.
 
This thing looks great! Where are you going to do track days?
Going to have to travel for them. There is a few options for autox locally but it's on small-medium sized parking lots. There used to be a small oval track in Vernon but it got shutdown due to noise complaints.

Area 27 is the closest real track but I haven't checked to see if they let non members drive there or run open track days. Not that I could afford membership anyways...
One of my co-workers is a member of auto sports northwest in Spokane and regularly goes down with his E46 race car. I'm planning on making the trip sometime with him and checking it out.

Realistically this car will be a sporty daily driver for the (very?) occasional track day. I'd like to build a other car that's more racing focused in the future.
 
Minor update:

Moved to the Okanagan in the fall and my car is still in the Kootenays so progress on it has been nonexistent. Just singed a lease on a small shop with my buddy so once we move into the shop and set it up I'll trailer the 240 over.

Impulse bought some wheels for the car. OZ racing Futura 17x8.5 front and 17x9 rear, somewhere around ET38. Wheels were made in 1991 which is pretty neat and are in fairly good shape for their age.

Also finally installed the RBP stage 2 chips into the 148 EZK and 967 ECU. Thanks to Cam for the help along the way.
