Nets Silver 245

Added a baffle to my valve cover to hopefully reduce the amount of oil the intake is hoovering up. Used a 5'' mini press brake for a bench vise to bend this. Worked great!

Turned the coolant overflow res sideways to make some space for reinstalling the windshield wiper tank.

Begun working on installing wasted spark.

Built this bracket for the Bosch 2x2 coil. Kinda worried about heat soak here and I'm not to keen on it being on top of the engine from a clean engine bay perspective. Might leave it for now, see how it goes and then look at moving it to where the old distributor currently sits.

Board and wiring harness all hooked up!

Impulse bought this intake from KL racing. Despite them saying they no longer ship to NA and recommend the buyer organize freight this made it to my doorstep after about a month in transit.

Welded tabs on part of the 70mm throttle body in order to adapt the LH2.4 TPS. I would have liked to keep the smaller stock TB but decided modifying the OE unit was too tricky with the linkage arm and remote spring of the original unit.

Made a mess of tapping threads into the ears... Likely skill issue but it seemed like the drill bits I had were undersized for the M4 tap. Ended up having to upsize to M5 to barely salvage the threads... They're still junk and should be filled with weld and re-done... Job for future me.
Also bought a 850 TPS and the adapter KL sells. Unfortunately the adapter plate had holes in wildly incorrect spots and wouldn't have worked if I was using it. They must have some bad QAQC cause the front pulley/ harmonic damper I bought from them years ago has the timing marks 180 degrees out.

Replaced these clapped out Princess Auto mounts for OE HD Diesel mounts. The pictured mounts lasted 1300km before starting to delaminate.
Also made good progress on wasted spark install.

Nice work! Working on my parts list for wasted spark rn- are you going for the j702t ignitor or another route?
J702T and Bosch 2x2 motorsport coil! Depending on how far along you are I can provide PN's for connectors if it helps, there are three near identical 3 pin jetronic connectors for the Bosch 2x2 coil. Only two of the three will work. I ended up buying all three from Mouser :P

Ive got a bosch 2x2 from a land rover, and a modified ezk (shouts out to @DET17 for the kit and great documentation in the project cheap thrills thread). Being a parts hoarder in denial, the connector for the lh2.4 crank pos sensor fits the bosch 2x2 and you already know i have a parts harness. Just need to grab a j702t, and i think theres a Talon at my local jy that should have it. Dropping the PNs would be great anyhow!

I just ordered a bunch from KL racing, and it said I had to contact a freight company. I emailed them and asked. They just have a maxium weight/dimension they can ship. I was over that. I cut some stuff out and Petra had no problems shipping to me. The website doesn't make it too clear (translation error or something).

Good to know! Definitely some details being lost in translation as Petra told me they don't ship to Canada and I need to arrange freight. That was after the order had gone through, including cost of shipping, so I just let it play out and sure enough it arrived no issues.

These wheels have always leaked air ever since I bought them. Time for a re-seal! I'm considering getting the centres powder coated, but can't decide on a colour. It's a toss up between BBS gold or gun metal. Then again, I might just leave them for now until I paint my wagon.

what pattern are they?

Manifold is now black. Gave the inside a quick de-burr with a wire wheel as these castings are pretty rough. Deleted the KL Racing logo on the top as it was barely legible.

I still suck at welding aluminum. Thankfully these are on the bottom on the manifold and out of sight... Did a leak test with air and soapy water. Had to plug a few pin holes but got it all sealed in the end!

Built a bracket for the throttle cable instead of welding the provided tab to the manifold. I need to get a shorter cable as this one is way too long and hits the hood.

Mostly finished the new fuse panel. Waiting on some DTP connectors to show up for the fuel pump and E-Fan. I don't currently have a use for the five relays but it will be nice to have the future expansion available should it be needed. Kept the OEM Volvo E-fan relay setup as I doubt the little micro relays on the Bussmann unit will survive very long with the fan inrush current.

From right to left: 80A main breaker feeding a 75A main relay, switched off ignition power. Load side of the relay supplies the Bussmann fuse/ relay panel. Used #2 for the all the positive and negative wiring. Pretty overkill but it was free from work thanks to a bunch of leftovers from a job. Also upsized the alternator wiring with #2 while I was at it.
