New injectors don´t work (below 12V)

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my B230FT. Bought new bigger injectors (470ccm, EV1) and the engine won´t start. Due to a coincidence with a weak battery I found out that below 12 Volt the new injectors won´t open (no click). If i start the car with brake cleaner, it will run afterwards with the new injectors.
Are those injectors to sensitive? During starting of the car the voltage will drop below 12V. I already upgraded the grounding wiring of the injectors but didn´t solve the problem.
New injectors are also high resistance as the old ones with resistor pack deleted.

Next test will be to start the car with a jump starter attached, let´s see what happens.

Don´t think that the resistor pack is the problem, as it works with the old high resistant injectors (for more then 10 years).
 
Try diagnostic test mode 3 to see if all, or any, of the injectors click: https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html#FuelInjectionandIgnitionDiagnosticCodesi

If you have an incandescent test light, you can check that there's good +12volts on the injector connectors. Unplug all 4 injectors, clip the test light to a good ground, and, with key on engine off, lightly touch each injector pin on the harness. Don't shove the probe into the connector or you'll damage the pin. One side of each connector should have good +12volts. Compare the brightness when probing the injectors versus probing the battery + post directly - it should be the same.

What is the measured resistance, pin-to-pin, of the new injectors? and the old injectors? Part numbers?

Are your new injectors low impedance or high impedance?

If they are high impedance you must bypass the resistor pack.
 
If you put your old injectors back in, does it start then? Curious so nothing else is related but the injectors. I find it strange the injectors cannot handle the voltage drop. Poor grounds?

With the old injectors it runs fine. I had some troubles with the ground, so I updated the wiring.
 
Injectors are from a knowN German company.
Made a few tests on the weekend. Attached a running car to my Volvo battery to prevent the voltage drop. Didn´t work out.
Started the engine with brake cleaner. Engine starts and stays running. So for me (not a big electrical guy) it is clear that the new injectors don´t operate below 12V.
Changed yesterday to the old injectors. Engine starts normal.
 
Do you have chips that match the flow rate of the new injectors? Is the flow of the old injectors the same as the new injectors?

Maybe the injectors are working fine, but they’re too big and flood the engine when starting? Do you have a WBO2? If so, what does it read when running on the new injectors?

He said they do not open if the voltage drop below 12V, i.e. when cranking.
