FWD T5 nightmare:
I just had the geartronic replaced. It shifts perfectly.

But since this job was done the drivetrain vibrates when driving over 55, faster and it gets worse and worse
I had the front wheels balanced > no improvement
The vibration is definitely speed related, not engine rpm related
It does not make a big difference if i am steering left or right > diff OK? is that fair to claim?

The subframe was taken down to be able to swap the slushbox. Could this effect front wheel alignment and cause these vibrations?

There are 2 things i can think of:
1) the driveshaft. (F-ed up?)
I suppose it has been balanced during manufacturing?
I suppose it would make a difference if the mechanic accidently pulled those homokinetic couplings appart and reassembled them clocked differently?

2) a tire issue? both front winterwheels maybe got switched over somehow making them rotate in the other direction that they were worn in?
Or the threads are cupped?

i'm getting kinda fedup with this annoying POS.
i guess i'm gonna start by swapping some wheels around.

swap front wheel with back and see what happens.
who balanced your tires? shop or buddy
anytime you drop the subframe you need to get an alignment - probably not related to vibration unless something is loose

probably not the axles

Jack, thanks.
wheels were balanced by a tire shop.
yesterday i swapped the front wheels from left to right and vice versa
guess what, vibrations gone! :-)

I guess 2) was the cause.
Best to keep the tires on the same side of the car. I marked them so when i take them off i will know where they need to go once i need them again.
