S/V/C not impressed...

so i have this V70-T5, got it with some tech issues which i managed to fix
The OBD and board computer are code free at this moment, no emissions problems.

but the thing is, i am seriously unimpressed by the power that my car puts out...
It's supposed to put out 250hp on gasoline, maybe 230hp on LPG.
- it feels slower then my ex T5R, which was bonestock.(240HP in overboost mode)
- it even feels slower then my ex tuned 940lpt (200hp, a bit more on E85)
- my friends chipped D5 is accelerating faster... (163HP??185HP?? but ****loads of torque)
- i guess the car feels like 170-180hp.
turbo spoolup seems slow, i can't hear a CBV dumping boost when i let off the throttle.
the car can't even spin the front wheels when applying WOT from a standstill (on a wet road!) That has to be a fail.

I'm thinking: WGA rod not hooked up? boost solenoid not managing the boost?
Does the P2 V70-T5 have a CBV similar to those on the Mitsubishi turbo's?
What brand/type of turbo is on this P2 T5?

That's why I bought a '04 V70 2.5T instead of the T5
and......
That's why I sold my '04 V70 2.5T a few years later:-(

Although torque off the line was impressive, once above 40 mph my modified n/a 91 245 has better power. The V70 boasted 7.2 sec 0-60. I've done 8.4 sec 0-60 in the 245 and it didn't cost me $40k.

Oh, and I really didn't like the way it drove. FTL

btw, didn't you turn off the DTSC? Default is always ON

When I first checked into the P2 turbos, I was on a site called vvspy, and there was a lot of feedback about why mileage of the S/V70T's dropped off considerable after a few months or year of use. One guy claimed to have dropped 6-8 mpg and lost power after 12k miles. He also said he consisently gon onto it and his transmission suffered. His trips to teh dealer didn't come up with anyissues they could detect or fix.
I didn't experience that difference, but did experience mpg loss, and (butt dyno) some power loss after ~35k. There were a lot of people that bough cars in Europe that complained about it in '03-'05, if that makes any sense to you.

What are you running for fuel? 89? 93? e85?

gasoline: RON98
LPG: is the equivalent of RON102-104

we don't even have 89, 93...
it starts at RON95 over here.

pulled the plugs today, all super clean and nice like they should be when running LPG. No oil residu. No sooth.
brand/type: Bosch Super+ FR7DPP @ 0.7mm
But one plug was fitted so loosly that i didn't need the ratchet to get it out...
There was evidence that at some stage the engine got at least 2 new coils. I left the coverplate off, it must get insanely hot under it.

mileage really doesn't matter a lot to me, LPG is like €0.67/L.

I checked the WGA-rod. It is attached to the WG like it shoould be.
gonna try loosening the exhaust to test the cat

Jack 8745 figured out why my cars feels slower then a healthy 850T5R.
It's an automatic in which the ECU allows only limited torque in the lower gears...bummer.
i also discovered that there is actually some extra mechanical resistance in the gaspedal mechanism. It turns out i was actually not applying WOT at all! LOL.

Add to that the weight difference:
855T5R: 1445kg
V70-T5 + LPG-kit: 1528kg +102kg = 1630kg (acc. to car docs)
add to that a towing hitch: 30kg?? That makes 1660kg as the car sits on the road
215kg difference

i also cleaned the AMM and it turned out that the rubber O-ring between AMM and airbox was fitted crooked and wasn't sealing properly. Don't know if it matters much but i corrected it.

My S60R ran great when I first got it. I had to take it back to the dealer to get warranty work done on it, after that it was slower and boost was lower. I took it back to the dealer twice and complained about it. They said they could not find anything wrong with it.
One day I got in it at work to go get lunch and the boost was normal and it ran as before. After that it was back to low boost, but it would sometimes make a whistle sound from under the hood. I took it back to the dealer again as it was still under warranty. This time they got it fixed but said they could not find anything wrong with it. I am sure they fixed a boost leak.
Put a boost gauge on it and check boost levels, if they are low pressure test the system. Also I found the TCV (turbo control valve) gets gummed up with carbon and oil from the PVC system. Replace it and install a small filter in the boost line to it. The filter will keep the carbon out of the TCV and it will work much better and last way longer. I used a fuel filter for a small engine. I have not had any problems since.
