I want to start making some open-source parts for the volvo 240.
This is my first attempt this morning with making a new acrylic speedometer glass.
I notice taking measurements from both the original glass and the width/height of the speedometer housing is not going to be perfectly precise with years of sun.
I also notice that cutting a hole using an acrylic laser cutter to replicate the angled hole of the odometer reset is not possible with normal acrylic cutters.
Feel free to modify and e-upload files. You need 2mm acrylic if you are going get near the density of the original acrylic for spacing purposes when you wedge the new acrylic in.

For those Americans reading this, I assume the measurements are in centimeters?

Also, if anyone is unsure how to remove the old and replace the new - there are plastic fasteners around the outside edge of the cluster, just behind the front bezel area. A craft knife or similar tool can be used to cut them and then pull the bezel forwards off of the cluster body, freeing up the plastic. There is a decent friction fit involved so I didn't have any need to re-glue the bezel back on, but you could if you wanted to afterwards.
