Anything left of it? I considered looking at the front suspension, but I just discovered its existence a couple days ago. I figured you vultures would have picked it clean long since... especially if there was any sort of July 4 sale pricing...

My 86 245 came with a fresh airbag dash, if you don't have that lower bolster can you still make it work or does it look like shit?

It looks incomplete without it

all volvo did was cut the trim to make it fit but steering surround is specific

I would want the bolster to complete the look. Also need different center stack cover, and the driver side support that has the pickup points for the bolster substructure. His 2nd pic in last post you can see the difference compared to a pre airbag

idk I just pulled, front airdam, insulation, pass kick vent, grill and headlight surrounds. I was in/out in 14 min and the suspension was all there. I have a v6 front sway bar if you need that

omg son it's was 98F all day but I will provide you with the privilege of driving your very own 245 before then, even if it's in neutral down the driveway

because it's important to have rear doors insulated and redone before you drive it

Thanks for the dash info. I just have the upper so I need the center stack and knee bolster. Looks like the side bits can be trimmed and the hood release can stay with the knob?

Car is looking really good, nice work with cleaning up the doors! What's the cleaning solution you use? Are you going to install the later 88 or 89+ 2nd door seals?

You don't have to trim anything to use the original hood release with a knee bolster dash but it's pretty annoying. The knee bolster is directly in the way so you have to fish around under the dash and then pull it downward and out to release the hood.

You also need the bracket on late hood release to support the left lower part of the bolster.

LA cleaner, and yes I will be adding those after all the black surround is painted

today, worked on the passenger rear door

added dynamat and glued on insulation, it's a bit patchy but just don't mention it to anyone

installed a good window guide, painted the surround and b-pillar

washed all the extra brown bits I have so I can choose the best ones

pained all the "new" door cards with rustrolium espresso - it does not look brown to me

Brickboard just emailed and said you should have used a urethane laquer or oil based instead of latex. Now the masonite cant air out when it gets wet.

I think I used left over tyvek siding plastic on my truck to prevent moisture.

I always use oil based but didn’t discover this until I started painting, it will be fine

- installed new outer window gasket scraper I got from the Ken estate
- powder coated the outer trim, new double sided tape, NLA trim clips
- installed (on pass rear) door panel
- rear window regulators cleaned and regressed
- outer door handles sandblasted and powder coated
- sprayed everything with silicone so it can soak it in

recorded the difference before all the insulation was installed in rear door
