Yeah it’s generally in shambles around mid-May. 1.0 R inverse square value in the time to IPD to mess in garage correlation. After seeing the garage in person, im even more impressed with this car. The clutch felt on the heavier side so that's nice that got reduced. Hopefully you don't lose clamping force
I have the E39 for that. And I hate the T-5. And I can always get a modded GS6-53BZ later on.I’m torn on the automatic. Yes an 8hp can shift faster than I can, things technically get faster… but it’s an automatic. I like my car for the theater, the bit of drama. If I wanted something that produced and delivered power in the most efficient way possible I’d sell it and buy a boring BMW or an RS3.
Not knocking the direction just thinking out loud. I’d miss the hell out of banging a perfect 4-3 heel-toe, double clutched downshift.
Yabbut, its like a Sadev with more gears but at 1/10th the price....I’m torn on the automatic. Yes an 8hp can shift faster than I can, things technically get faster… but it’s an automatic. I am going to try the MK60 ABS install. I'll let you know how it goes.EDIT: One more thing - I’m doing an effort vs benefit analysis on swapping in ABS, either from an S2000 or E46 as well. Because that’s how much I love complexity. Also, traffic in wet weather can get dicey here.
Just so you know, all later E46s have MK60 ABS. The only difference is in the tuning. Hope this saves you a few bucks.I am going to try the MK60 ABS install. I'll let you know how it goes.
I was going to start with the E46 MK60, the M3 MK60s seem like major $$$. I can always swap the brains later if I find a M3 one for cheap. If I can figure out the magnetic rings in the front, maybe I will use the MK60e5 on the M90s. Anything will be better than no ABS. I agree that there is something special about a manual, but I also think the 8hp is special. You need to come out for IPD or something and you can drive my car.I’m torn on the automatic. Trust me, you really don't want an HTG. The video looks nice, but that's not how it really is.Yabbut, its like a Sadev with more gears but at 1/10th the price....

I don’t think the 8HP will take out any of the drama from the driving experience in this car, after riding in Tate’s.

I’ve been watching these guys and they are using the TurboLamik which seems pretty solid.

Like I mentioned before, the Germans that are running Turbolamik are reporting early failures due to excessive clutch wear. The tuning appears to have some development work ahead of it in the torque interruption strategy department.
And an xhp tune*I still wouldn't use Turbolamik. Knowing what I know now, I would only use CanTCU or MaxxECU. Whatever uses the stock TCU shifting logic is the most reliable by far.
Yeah, that's still stock shifting logic. Just adjusted. And an xhp tune*
Exactly!Yeah, that's still stock shifting logic. Just adjusted.
