My 240 had a stereo job when I got it a few years ago.
I figured it would be bad, given the fact the rear door cards were held in place by wood screws, but I was absolutely not prepared for the grand reveal.

I can't imagine paying someone to fuck a car up this bad.

Jesus Christ what a mess. How would you even do this?

Based on the tool marks, they started with a reciprocating saw with a wood blade. That wasn't fast enough so they perforated the area with a drill, and then beat it all down with a hammer.

That is probably the worst hack job I've seen. I have seen several Volvos hacked like that by stereo shops. Their favorite speaker hardware seems to be drywall screws.

No, but it did have a funky red light on the dash and the horn wiring was butchered so when you hit the horn button the alarm went off. Horns were deleted. ???

Looks like a previously undiscovered species of metal chewing beaver got ahold of that car.

This was done by a shop that was confident that the owner (at the time) would not be popping that door card off anytime soon. That's a "we already got paid now get it out of here" job. I have unfortunately worked with techs that would do this type of crap and leave it for the next guy. I'm not sure how they sleep at night.
We had a v70 come in that wouldn't start due to the immobilizer thinking it had been in a collision. I saw a newly installed sub and amp in the back, traced the wires up to where it had been spliced into the wiring for the seat belts in the drivers side B pillar. I don't know wtf the installer was thinking.
