Resonator Walker 47822

Hi folks,

I'm installing a resonator (Walker 47822) on my Volvo XC70 - 2006.

I noticed a metal hook inside the pipe that connects to the catalytic converter, but I have no idea what its purpose is, and not even if it is meant to stay there or should I remove it, but it seems to be welded to the side as you see in the images below.

I appreciate your help!

Probably a manufacture defect, might be able to break the spot weld just from wiggling it back and forth, otherwise send it back.

Removing it from there is not an issue, I was worried it had a role someway in the assembly.

Yup, standard hang-it-on-the-rack hook.
Much better than them lying all over the warehouse floor.
Save it for the next time you do brakes. They make nice, strong caliper hangers.
I keep mine on the rear corner of my cart.
