Hi. Good day

Im late and new with RWD volvo. car is year 1997, Volvo 940 turbo, B230-FK, automatic trans, petrol

this B230 FK is low pressure turbo with 135 bhp and 230 nm. The high pressure turbo is 165 bhp and 260+ nm. Both B230 FK and B230 FT use small TD04-13C

My mechanic has done with major/full engine overhaul

some question, hope fellow members can help :

1. what is original injectors cc at 3 bar fuel pressure ?
2. could original spec injectors support up to 200 bhp ? I will upgrade ecu by using performance fuel and ignition chips
3. i have TD04 HL-16T angle flanged , the turbine side is 7cm . Is turbo 16T angled flange easy to fit /install in B230 FK ?
4. turbo downpipe upgrade with delete cat, could i use 3.5 inch turbo downpipe for 16T- 7cm ? larger size downpipe will increase turbo spool or not ?
5. will original smallish engine oil cooler (that is attached to oil filter) good enough for 200bhp ?
6. I will not race this car, just need some extra power for better high speed cruising and overtaking slower trucks.

I think 200 bhp and 280 nm is enough considering it's an old car....need to consider engine reliability

items i already bought; Blitz electronic boost controller, Blitz boost gauge, AEM wideband AFR gauge, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump ,thicker high performance radiator, 19 rows ATF cooler

with performance chips installed, do i need to use adjustable fuel pressure regulator ?

anyway, can help me which performance fuel and ignition chips to buy ? better if have their email address

Thank you

You can easily have 200hp+ for free, since you already have a boost controller

Nothing else needs to be changed

But, power increases are addictive

Have you carried out the accumulator mod on the AW71 transmission yet? If not, this is important

Thank you sir

Yes sir, since car is over 20 years old, im worry about the transmission too

odometer is 245,000 km . I think quite low for 1997 car

do have link to articles related to AW71 accumulator mod sir ?

1) 337cc
2) Yes - they have plenty of headroom. I use them with a 16T turbo @ 0.9bar, AFR is good.
3) Not as easy as flat flange because of the slight twist, but can be done.
4) 3.5 inch not needed imho. I use the stock one and while it's alright, 3" should give enough of an "upgrade".
5) Yes.

Chips (I use them and I'm very happy): https://www.turbobricks.com/index.p...-light-duty-stage-1-performance-chips.355788/
No need for an adjustable FPR.

I don't see the need for an uprated fuel pump, but you should think about a larger Intercooler, since the stock one is very restrictive.
I use the one from KL Racing.

The AW71 accumulator mod has been covered here in good detail.

You need to fabricate lengths of bolt or thread to go inside the accumulator piston springs.

Valve body of transmission must be removed to access pistons

injectors original 337cc can go up maximum at what bhp and boost ?

i have spare of white injectors from year 2004 volvo S60-T5, 2300cc, 250 bhp version. Is it true white injectors are 350cc and blue injectors are 395 cc ?

You will be more than happy with a TD04 Mitsu family upgrade (16T plenty) but I'd invest in the do88 full FMIC kit, if you plan to "get into boost repeatedly" as the OE plastic unit will heat soak. If you can find a reasonably priced 75mm downpipe that will help a bit, but honestly for 200 WHP I think you can run the stock unit (from ancient memory they are around 63/65 mm). AW71 with the accumulator mod is more than up to the task of your power goal. You definitely need a wideband to observe AFR's when the boost is turned up..... and possibly a fuel & spark tune to protect your engine from higher boost.

Everything else should live happily. Enjoy!
