Show me your oil cooler setups!

Stumbled on this old tread that has some renewed interest. Cooler are great on NA or turbo cars and the reason my 87 still has such great compression numbers ( 200-204psi) at 315,000 miles. I put a Hayden transmission and oil cooler at 10,000 miles (tube fin) and removed them both at 275,000 or so because of leaks. A couple of the mount in this tread were given great thought and since I understand the benefits of a cooler lending longevity to the engine and transmission, I need to add the cooler. That stack plate cooler looked to be a 28,000 GVW and the way it's mounted should be clost to 95% of it rating. Great job.

Why? It has the Sure Grip so I still need pliers or something to remove. Meh, I don't change the oil enough to care about filter quality. Normally use Supertech filters, $2 from Wal-Mart, weigh the same as Bosch and boast all the same features and Top Fuel uses Supertech products (mainly 90 weight engine oil).

It's just what I had on hand.

Supertech Walmart filters are better than most fram filters. Cut open your run-of-the-mill fram and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Mine's out where Ryan242 put his. I'm going to build a little skid plate off the bumper for it, but it's working well.

I cut the stock fittings off and had -10 fittings welded on.

Adapter fittings to the stock sandwich plate. I'm going to end up with a remote filter because access sucks.

How would you re-route the coolant pipes to the heat exchanger if going to remote cooler?

Get the stock older block water drain port and cap the tube on the branch pipe, or remove and weld it flush, or get an earlier branch pipe, or be ghetto and loop a piece of hose, I suppose.

2 questions ...I need extension lines for my 91 740 since i put in a bigger intercooler any tips on sizes ,lengths , location to purchase , and question 2 is that a turbo b230ft in a chevy truck ...if so I LOVE IT

B&M cooler in my old 740T, all stock parts except the cooler and 2 adapters to go from the hose to the cooler. And brackets haha. Stock lines are long enough to do this and it won't disturb the intercooler. Engine was a 93.

Anyone know the thread size of the 740 T Air to oil cooler like the original poster was asking about? I want to run custom flexible lines from my oil cooler to the sandwhich plate.

Edit: Ok guys very sorry to bring up this old thread but I figured it out.

Dave's webstie showed me that the stock oil cooler male threads are 1/2" BSP, and if you want to run 8 AN custom oil lines you need these 1/2" BSP female - 8 AN male adapters.

Again sorry to bump up this old thread but I hope this can help someone who's in a similiar situation as me and the original poster.
