245 sags quite a bit when there is just a little weight in the back and even more with a couple passengers in the rear. If I were to get either the Lesjofors or IPD, would that help my situation?

Lesjofors are progressive so this possibly might help?

Does anyone know the spring rate of IPD?

Anyone have pictures of either of these springs installed? I am looking to go with one with less lowering.

Thank you for the input Redwood.

What is the ride quality of the progressive springs that you didn't like? Also, for the overload spring, Are they higher spring rates and do they sit at the same height when the car is not loaded?

Progressives might be nice if they made progressive shock absorbers but they don't.

Yes the overloads are thicker wire and sit ~3/4" higher, but that's easily fixed by snipping the first turn of the top of the spring.

Great! I am leaning to this.
For the price, it seems hard to beat.

Would you happen to know if the overload springs are stiffer than say IPD lowering springs?

No idea probably similar though.

Also there's the older black IPD lowered low life springs, and the newer blue lowered low life springs that are a bit thicker, but I don't mess with them poncy poseur springs so I really can't say.

That said these are the old skool IPD overloads that are currently on my 82 245GLT.

I have the progressive ipd springs on my sedan, and they do what they're suppose to, but they leave much to be desired regarding ride quality. There are people who swear by the moog cargo coils. If you're into doing your own experimentation your could get rear adjustable coilover sleeves from BNE and adjust the spring rate and height to what fits your car.

That's a damper issue, not a spring issue.

Do you think it's an under damping issue? I decided to upgrade the shock to TC's to try to match the spring rate. I don't like the TC's, I know that much. They're harsh over road imperfections and the rears rattle. I sold my stock sedan rear springs to a guy who had B6's and IPD overloads on his sedan and he didn't like springs, wanted to go back to stock.

I wish I could drive a nicely set up 240, right now It's just trial and error over here.

Both B4 and B6 are valved to match stock spring rates. It just is what it is. You are better off getting a used set of B6s and sending them off to be revalved, but that still won't get you a nice digressive damping curve.

Unfortunately that's life with a 240. You have 3 options:
1. Leave it stock and use nice parts
2. Reengineer everything from the ground up
3. Pay big bucks for a very nice off-the-shelf solution

I chose revalving for my turbo with the B6 shocks. They are great. The wagon uses cargo springs from FCP and the fronts are the 242GT front springs. Also from FCP. The ride is not cush anymore it's very firm with some harshness over rough stuff. Rear Bilteins and front Swedish Car Parts on the wagon.

I just bought the lesjofors sport lowering kit just so I could run the rear progressive springs. I have coilovers in the front and koni sport dampers all around. i really like how it rides. It's pretty low. The rear wheel is just beginning to tuck behind the arch. I can get a picture if you're interested.

I would really appreciate it if you can get some pictures. I still haven't decided on which springs to get yet.
