SquareD's slow and steady 945 tarbo project

Such a beautiful wagon. Are you thinking of listing or possibly adding the 744 to your fleet?

Thanks! No, it got me thinking I might actually be able to get real money out of this wagon. My car has higher mileage @114k than the BAT 744t and it's obviously not bone stock, but it is a wagon and IMO is tastefully modified in a way that's pretty easily reversible.

I kept chasing a clunk in the front end and turns out it actually was play in the spherical bearing on one of the BNE mounts, so I swapped in the original factory strut mounts and all is well.

Let me know if you need a replacement bearing.

#Boostweather is cooperating with me lately, but I think I have a pretty good fuel map developed. Haven't noticed any pinging with an aggressive stab of the pedal and the power is so much smoother and better than before. Nothing too exciting, but I'm confident I'm at ~240 crank hp right now. I'll take it. Even with the auto, I was able to nice smooth, power induced slide coming back from CnC this weekend.

So to put things in perspective, this is the stock fuel map:

Yikes. That sheer teal face is the likely cause of that infamous tip in ping.

This is my current map.

We'll have to see how it runs in hotter weather. Now the focus is working on fine-tuning the cruising afr's, but they're not bad right now, ~14.8-15. Having address hit tracing enabled is a huge help obviously.

I haven't messed with EZK yet. Obviously I don't have a bunch of experience with tuning, but for what it is... LH 2.4 running ostrich/tunerpro isn't as horrible as it seems; it just needs some massaging. I bet some work on the EZK side would work wonders as well.

I am still interested if you decide to part with it, let me know. Looking good as always!

My 240 desperately needs some tuning  I can't stand the weird power delivery and tip in knock with stock LH maps. It honestly is what stops me from daily driving the car.

Still have the wagon, but I've put out some feelers to people that have inquired in the past about buying it. I've just lost passion in working on cars and it's not getting driven. For the right price, I'd definitely be open to moving on.

I also picked up Manbeard's 06 Tundra recently, which has added some to the motivation to sell the wagon. Super clean and low miles, just needs some faded paint addressed on the roof and hood. I've been looking at trucks for a while, but obviously prices on trucks are through the roof, especially around here. So when he mentioned selling it, I jumped at the chance to buy a clean, rust-free southern truck. The wife and I flew down to RDU last weekend and drove it 850 miles back without a hiccup.

That's about it. Just spending most of my time being a dad to 3 kids and riding and working on bikes when I can.

Too funny when I saw the thread pop up I thought "ooh my favorite 7/9... I want this car I wish I could buy it".

Of course I have way too many cars as it is. It's worth good money!

What is the current mileage?

What sort of ball park price are you thinking?

If it were a manual...you'd likely have some cash in your hand...and I'd be reevaluating my garage situation...

I have a full M90 5 speed setup with a Yoshifab billet flywheel and clutch that goes with it. Some assembly required.

After selling off my 940 (that had the e-codes you sold me), I can't stop thinking about the car. And as of lately, I think about it more and more and how I want another again. Your car was one of the few I looked at on the forums as the pinnacle of what a 940 could be as an OEM+ car. Shoot me some details about the car price wise, I'm interested to say the least.

Sooo, put the car in a show over the weekend and I figured I'd change the oil and get it all cleaned up. First off, writing down the oil change I noted that I've only driven it 480 miles in the last 2 years. I had to broom the bottom in a couple spots to knock the cobwebs off.

Next I wanted to address the tired looking window trim and I figured I'd try a less invasive fix right now. Since I'm pretty certain there's not much paint left on them, I did a brief clean and polish and then hit them with a couple coats of Carpro CQuartz ceramic coating. It's not as good as a full refinish, but it definitely was an improvement and didn't take much time. I've never done any ceramic coating, so it was interesting to at least try it out like this.

Still my favorite grandpa series. You've done a beautiful job with it, even if you don't get to drive it.

Thanks Jordan! My youngest is turning 6 soon and things aren't as crazy as they've been. Fewer random ER trips, surgeries and illness. But now we're entering the period where the kids are all involved in more stuff like plays and sports. Good times though. It's wild to think at 45 years old I've been on TB for half my life now.
