Any tips for removing the paint off my engine block ? Iv had pretty good success with paint stripper but once it's softened it's still a bitch getting in all the spots. You guys just using wire brush ?

Thanks rad, that's what iv been doing. Maybe I'm just lazy. Thought there had to be a better way. I'm going to try a softer wire wheel so I can get in all the spots.

Ask your local machine shop what they charge for prep'ing a block for painting. IDK if they use a high pressure washer, or an oven, or both. Ask to see an example so that you'll know what to expect.

Machine shops usually use caustic cookers for iron, detergent cookers for aluminum. Each one requires lots of cleaning after, especially if storing.
If you have paint left, it was meant to be. Paint over it.

thanks for the replies, i had it stripped professionally and then messed up the paint, never torched the block before paint to remove the last contaminants. it took awhile for the shit paint to surface, so i had the motor almost completely assembled or i would just get it dipped again. seems elbow grease is the answer. wont make the mistake again!
