Thx FatCat, appreciate the advice. DDI drove my 244 in the snow with 185/70R14 Michelin Defenders. They were fine.
I have Defenders on my 244, and they've done everything I've needed them to, rain, snow or shine, they're a great tire and worth the money.I drove my 244 in the snow with 185/70R14 Michelin Defenders. They were fine.
I agree. Normally I'm a cheapskate with tires but considering how relatively inexpensive 14s are versus a tire for a 15 or a 16" rim, I'd go with a good name brand all-season like the Defenders again, if I ever had to have another 240.I have Defenders on my 244, and they've done everything I've needed them to, rain, snow or shine, they're a great tire and worth the money.
Pretty much all the local tire places near me had them in 14"? Kal Tire and Active Green & Ross here definitely had them in stock at the time. I haven't looked in a bit, since I moved to a 940 with 16" wheels, also on Defenders.Where do you get 14” defenders still? I just got 16” wheels so i could keep running defenders
Dang, that's a bummer. I bought my Defenders back in 2018 probably.185/70r14 Defenders are NLA. Womp womp. That's why I went to 15" on my 244. Op, get 195/75r14 in a nice load rating. If you feel like going really crazy, 185r14C which is the original equipment for non GLT/Turbo 245's. I have ran them on VW transporters and I love them, the sidewall is soooo stiff.
