Well today I was involved in a wreck with my 90 240. I was hit pretty hard on the ds front fender. It has diffently shifted the front end over, Im guessing an inch. Dont know what insurance will do but Im pretty partial to my 240. Id like to cut the strut towers and all out, straight the front rails if needed, which Im sure it will. Then maybe go back with something better, just seeing what kind of options are out there. Thanks for any direction.

Sorry to hear about your accident

How well versed are you in welding ?

Options are as big as your imagination, you’re being vague in your “questions” or lack of

I would pull and push it straight.
And if you are set on a change not only will you need to build a crossmember, etc, you will still need something to bolt fenders to.

I can weld pretty well and I can probably straighten it up. I was just thinking maybe a mustang 2 style, or something else. But as Mikep says, Id have to fab something to bolt the fender onto. I was just brain storming. Years afo I had a 73 Maverick that I cut the shock towers out and installed aftermarket Mustang 2 setup. Anyways ty for responding you both are much appreciated.

Cut it close to the fender mounting flange, and tube the rest of it. I’ve done this on a few racecars. Tacked some c channels to the outside of fenders and across doors to hold body panels in place, then make frame to fit and establish the geometry and tie in points to existing boxed areas.

Listen to Mike Oldfields Tubular Bells for inspiration. If you shop overseas like at Sellholm or KL Racing they sell tubular prefabbed control arms. There is a post in maintenance that has the Mitchell body books that might help you with measurements. Otherwise get the Volvo greenbook on the body for 240 so you have all the measurements you need to a straight 240.
