Turbobricks to move hosts by end of year (2022)

yeah still not technically ready yet... but you guys must have some bookmarks that go directly to the board. Since you've found the secret entrance... poke around a bit and see if anything looks missing/broken.

Holy crap. I didn’t even realize i was on tb. I’ve got a little chub, so far it’s fantastic. Fast as hell. Looks great.

Let me start by saying I hate change, technology is becoming less of my friend, I take ergonomics and design very seriously, and I don't mince words.

I love the new theme/layout/features. Not a single complaint. I immediately loved it.

The OG Turbobricks was vintage and familiar, but beginning to get buggy for me. This layout is nice and clean, with some similar throwback colours.

oh wait; one complaint. The "highlight text" colour while composing a message is a dark blue, and on the black lettering is difficult to distinguish.

Looks like Xenforo handles user titles as hierarchy ladders. Not sure whether that can be handled by changing username text color like on vbulletin.

Would certainly be nice to implement custom user titles on here!

Also, my $100 donation offer to set the profanity filter word to “P2 S60 R” still stands. Lesser bad words could even be “E36 M3” like on the GRM forums.

Thanks Dana and team.

what’s the maximum number of threads/ posts that can be shown per page? i actually prefer having the same number as we use to have, ie less pages to go through.

I didn’t see a preference edit under options? Unless I missed it. I am on mobile browser right now. Not near my computer.

Also. Happy new year all

Yeah i dont see a per-user preference for threads per page... right now the global setting is 20 I dont think we need a ton anymore since we're not generating a full page of unread threads per day like we used to in our prime... what should we change it to?

I can’t remember what we had originally before the switch. lol. I get what you’re saying about new threads and traffic.

Personally I’d prefer at least double what it is now. Right now, while I’m scrolling, it feels “compressed”. What’s everyone’s opinion? I guess if a per user option becomes available, that would be best?

I vaguely remember leaving slower areas at "forum default"? More active ones (OT, Maintenance) I had at 50. Helped me catch up if i hadn't logged in for a couple of days.

It appears text searching old threads is still possible, but old links are not working. I thought this might happen. I have a number of links to old thread content in my web pages that no longer work. This one for example: https://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=349573
Result: Server not found. I tried searching the thread number. No luck. I don't mind editing my pages, but I'm wondering if there's any way to find threads without going through a lot of text search results. Any suggestions?
Dave
