Hi,
I'm not sure if i'm the only one interested, i think it would be usefull and neat to have a vintage subforum so us round fender guys can have a place that we can call our own. Anyone else interested?

Since I only own a vintage car, I'd like to say yes to this thought, but I feel there wouldn't be as much input on threads as there is when it's all mixed together. There are guys that don't own vintage cars that can sometimes have good input, and I dunno if they'd click on a separate forum as often (especially if they don't own one).

Let's not forget that for us b20 guys, there are members with '75 240s with the same engine. Would that car be considered vintage or late model?

Oh, and you're on Brickboard, right? Yeah, I know. I personally loathe using that forum due to the ancient interface, but it does have good information from time to time (if you can find it  )

i HAVE A 73 142 AND A 91 745 OI like the mixed forums good insite on all things Volvo..
And all engines work the same so alot of the info does work for all cars/

Yeah I think that'd be a step in the wrong direction. I like the idea of a more diverse search maybe, so you could put a list of "blog style" keywords at the end of a post and organize according to that.

ie for my 265 I could put a keyword list like "1976, 265, V8, Megasquirt, Chevy" etc and then you could sort threads via those keywords, so clicking on "1976" would bring up all the threads that have 1976 cars.

well i see that the maintance forum has a vintage tag. If we could add one to performance, then i think with the correct link, you could view all [vintage] tagged threads.

it would be instantly polluted with "i can has a (ohc motor) in a (pushrod-powered car)??" and other assorted silliness.

but as long as the rules stated it was for pushrod discussion only i think it would be fine. it would also save me the trouble of having to go sift thru the junk in Performance for something that actually applies to me.

I like the idea of a vintage forum instead of sifting through the newer model post. I own newer and vintage models but sometimes the vintage threads get lost in the newer ones.
