Volvo 1800ES: Barnfind to B230 swap

I love the SAAB Acacia Green..... how well does the T5 fit within your 1800's torque multiplication tunnel?

Don't recall your interior color; likely the green will be less likely to conflict with the original color there.

That Saab color is great , still haven’t decided 100%. The interior color is a medium chestnut brown, look at my older posts or look on my instagram page for pics . This is stupid that we can’t post pics here on turbobricks .

The 1800E/ES have a larger trans tunnel, so T5 fits just fine .

I’ll actually use a shorter S197 T5, this has a rear flange instead of a slip yoke, so I can use the rubber coupler like the Volvo 240, and a proper two-piece driveshaft .

I made a scan of both trans here :

Heh, Saab 96 from Finland.
Nice!

I really wish I had more room and time for more cars . If I had more room, I’d have :

* Saab 96 (later one with larger tail lights )
* Saab 99
* Triumph TR7
* Saab Sonet III
* BMW 2002
* Alfa Romeo GTV
* Karman Ghia

For her, the pink works great!
So, one of your choices is blue....

"In the earlier part of the 20th century and the end of the 19th century mothers were regularly advised by the storekeepers to dress your boy in pink if you want him to look masculine, and if the parents were buying for a girl they were advised to opt for blue, since it was an extremely feminine color."

Hmm, interesting.

IDK, I’ve always had a thing for blue cars . I’ve owned brown, gold and white cars, I thought they were ugly and boring. Silver is OK, but I’m tired of it .

Had a green BMW 2002 that I thought was a neat color .

IDK, my first car was blue, so maybe that cursed me to have a weird infatuation with weird little blue two-door wagons 😀.
