For the past few years, I've been driving a 2011 Forester. It had standard 15 year old Subaru issues (significant oil leakage, worn out mount, rusting exhaust, etc.)
The plan was to replace a couple dented doors with junkyard units paint it one color, pull the engine and refresh it.
Then we had a hail storm come through and it took it hard.
The next day, @MistrThou messaged me out of the blue, saying he was told he could get a motorcycle if he got rid of his Volvo. He wasn't thinking I'd be interested, just bouncing the idea off. But since I was in the market, we talked a bit and I got first in line.
My wife was skeptical about me getting another 30+ year old car, but since the history of this car is well documented, and it was a good deal, I got the OK.
A little later, insurance cut me a check to haul it off that was about what I figured it would be worth fixed, so I took the money and ran.
I convinced a friend with a van to head out with me yesterday, and we picked it up. The car did great on the 300 mile drive home.
So this now lives in my driveway:
And I've got these bins to go through and catalog:
Time to start taking care of a few old car quirks.
The driver's visor likes to fall down over bumps, the rear left door doesn't open, and the rear right window is loose in the metal part that attaches to the regulator.

In a buzzed moment, I acquired a car.
It came with many spare parts.
She sat for ~7 years. Mice were in the engine bay. Not the interior. Lets see what it becomes.
