Will 205/70-14 tires fit a stock 240?

My cousin's daughter wants new tires, and he think 185s are too small. Everybody asks me for free car advice. Her car has those turbine Volvo alloy wheels.

I seem to remember putting 205/70-14 on a 242 I had once 40 years ago. I don't think they rubbed. But those were steelies.

I tried them a long time ago. They were horrible because it was like a I had balloon tires on the car. Cornering you would feel the tire roll over during the turn. If you are looking for a good cushy ride and an even slower car. Then it could work.

They should fit. The Hydra with 205/55-16 tires on them fit. A 205/55-16 is 24.9" in diameter. The 205/70-14 is 26" in diameter. I have seen several 240 wagons with 195/75-14s on them. Those are 25.5" diameter. As said above, they will be horrible when cornering.

I found these from a facebook guy named Jimmy Volvo Parts

Anybody know of him? Facebook has some crooks.
He says they are ARIES 15 inch 6J PCD108 and he has 5 to sell, not bent

Those will fit a 240, however, the center caps won’t fit when the wheels are installed on a 240. There isn’t enough clearance for the “fingers” on the back side of the cap to clear the bearing hubs.

None of the wheels we've found for old Volvos have come with caps anyway... Thank you for the info

That smells like a scam account.

195/75 isn't that bad, probably the closest you can get nowadays to the stock 185r14 wagon size.
