That motor is crazy. How are you supposed to get the oil filter out? We had one in the shop and was all like, WTF mang. Hondas got 100% easier to change the oil, and Volvos got 100% harder.

Its simple. The PS fluid Res. just pops up. Gives you lots of room to get it out.

Also, you need to pull the filter BEFORE you dump the oil. Apparently there is a valve at the bottom that prevents the oil from draining until the filter pops up.

Its always my habit to undo the filter first and let it drain while I'm draining the drain plug. Then when I pull the filter up it doesn't get oil everywhere. I do this on all the engines with the filters up top.

Thats what we ended up doing. But seriously, what the ****.
 
... i understand the inside kinda look likes the 70 series? But, i would take that over a x3. The x3 has looked the same the past 5 years, the same thing with that damn rx350 that never changes. I'd rock it if i had 10 grand to put down to get a reasonable 200 per month finance deal.

it's actually really easy, much better than fisting your hand up into a bunch of grimy **** and burning yourself getting the filter off a b230f.

i'll agree though, the motor is quite a silly design, not the engine itself, just everything surrounding it.
 
Thanks for all the replies, definelty digging it. Don't need to worry about maintanence/repais for awhile as its all taken care of for 36,000 miles.

This car is freakin fast, I think my 850 T is just barley quicker. Gotta love the twin scroll 281hp awd!

After the warranty expires its going to get lowered, with some volutions, and a nice exhaust!
