Oops. wrong size adapters. Anybody have some 12mm 5x108 to 5x120s?

The problem with these wheels is I'll have to shorten the wheel studs substantially to run a slim enough adapter to make them fit under the arches. Subsequently I won't be able to put stock wheels back on the car. I'm probably going to shelve these for the time being and just focus on repairs for now. I will need new 15" tires for the time being.

Got some hvac control hoses and interior panels from the JY and finally finished installing all that, I need to defrost to work on these cold mornings. I still need a fuse box cover in black, and some black floor trays. I can hear a leak when recirc isn't pressed so I need to look into that.

The car has randomly died a few times, but always comes back to life if I jiggle wires to the fuse box. Little bit sketchy when it happens in bumper to bumper on the commute home. Today I think I narrowed it down to a very corroded ignition coil feed fuse.

17s are going to take some parts collecting to fit how I want, so to keep the car rolling I have some cheapie 205/60/15s coming.

The trans is still banging in first gear but functional. I have a replacement on the way but I'll keep running this until something happens. I think the parking brake is dragging, theres noise from the rear when coasting, unless its the rear end.

Made some good progress bringing the paint back to life:

when I got it

after washing and clay bar

after compound, polish and wax

The hood was filled with small specks and a couple sap spots, I'm really happy with how it came out. Still some imperfections from where the moss bit into the paint but nothing I can do about that.

The trunk really came out nice, almost no imperfections in it at all

Pictures really can't capture how smooth and glossy it is. Next up is the roof, which is gonna be tough.

If you’ll recall I had to shim the trans up with some thick rubber because the mount so collapsed the driveshaft was out of alignment. Today I replaced it with an IPd heavy duty mount ($10, worth a shot) and replaced the leaky output shaft seal while I had the car in the air. Lost a good amount of fluid in the process, so did another drain and refill with 5w-30. It feels a lot smoother pulling away from a stop. Almost no more banging in 1st, which I was sure was internal. Other than some noise when OD is engaged and some whirring once hot in neutral, the trans functions normally.

I’d like to restore the paint on the rest of the car properly, so this weekend I’m going to research what it will take to remove all the belt trim. I’m sure I’ll need to have whatever clips hold it in on hand for re-install. The rear badging is all very faded, but I think instead of finding replacements I may delete them. The pinstripes are going to be tricky. I think I may have to just tape over them.

Man that paint turned out great!

I assume you work at a dealer? Trim clips were still available new last year, probably still are. I'd replace them. They'll be pretty brittle by now. Cost on them was pretty cheap when I did mine

1247708 is the clip used on all the old style chrome body moldings. -same as 140 series. Seems like the current price on these is nuts for something that used to be expensive at 50-75 cents....

Edit - IPD has a version for 89c a piece, that seems more reasonable.

if you lever the moldings off from the bottom edge, working carefully along the length, maybe you'll get lucky & only need a few of them....
