A couple of thoughts regarding the discord, both from my time there and from being banned. To start with the good: there are some *extremely* knowledgeable, decent, friendly people in the server who have done and are doing amazing things with these cars. There is truly an excellent community there at times, willing to help when needed.
Agree. There is a reason people stick around.
Now...the bad. Sporadically enforced, poorly or simply *un*defined rules,
That is pretty much the point of the server. See #1 below.
excessive ****posting in every single channel,
I agree strongly, this is really annoying, but expected. See #2.
blatant antisemitism by at least one member....
See #3.
One member said it best when someone asked if there are server rules: "There are, but only when convenient for the mods".
I am not sure the meaning of this, it is rare that there is a need for a moderator to take action on anything. The server is pretty self-regulating with the regulars calling stuff out as they see fit.
I was banned for in jest pinging a moderator 5 times across two channels over the span of 2 hours, which apparently constitutes "repeated harassment" - of note is that at least one of these pings was a serious inquiry as to the price of an item, and another was a genuine request for moderation/clarification. There was not truly clear warning given, nor was a full reason given: in fact, as far as I was aware it was merely the normal joking interaction as is so common on that server.
You were both asked to stop pinging them AND kicked a couple of times before the ban. Yet you came back to do it again.
In contrast, other users have previously without repercussion: doxed admins (end result of that interaction for those curious: admin demoted from position, user allowed to stay after <1 day ban),
I am not sure exactly what happened specifically during that altercation, as the demoted person purged all the evidence, but you know that the two involved knew each other in person and constantly have beef for some reason.
In regards to the "demote," we have gotten DOZENS of complaints over a long period of time about the person. They have had an habit of harassing members and bringing other people to the server with the specific intent of harassing members and starting drama.
posted anti-semitic content,
3.) While I do agree it is deplorable, the member in question stopped and apologized for their behavior when called out.
posted actual pornography in general, etc, etc.
This is an interesting take, especially from you.
If the intent is to have a server with no rules, then that goal has certainly been reached. I've said my piece, take it as you will.
1.) As stated, To have "no rules," WAS the original intent of the server. But if people really need "Do not harass people" or "stop means stop" to be spelled out on a bold and flashing sign, we can oblige. The rules that have been available on turbobricks for 20 years are a good start:

i will say that my brief experiences in the TB discord have been irritating at best.
Yuh. Discord is the suk.
I'm old and discord feels like walking into an elementary school where they feed the kids crack.
Agreed, it's almost all cringey sh*tposting with the humor of a 15 year old.
2.) I will have to agree, but mostly in regards to the ****posting. It is extremely irritating when one asks a question and the choice ****posters just respond with nonsense, derailing the attemped discussion. It is a REALLY bad look when the asker is new to the group. Though, the forum is the better place for direct, on-topic discussion. c'est la vie.
