My 1981 242 DL

Ouch. :( There's too much of this sort of thing going on lately....

That's always very annoying when you're at the mid-point of a project.

Hope you can find a new lockup soon.

Cheers gents. Well, i'll still be active and see what i can do with it all.

Also i still need to make a few vids, but i just can't be arsed, to be fair as there's too much shiz going on...

Some news!

I have finally found a container tha ti can store the shell and the tools and so on from the garage that we are meant to leave on the 22nd of this month.

I'll update on it all, but it will all be a bit rare lol

I am also making a little video with some past bits that never been shown yet.

Be right back!

Indeed, sometimes it's better to shove it into a corner of darkness and forget about it till you have a bright idea of the correct way to deal with it.

Now, the main thing is moving house!

Hey there gents!

Nothing really that major to report apart from it being a new year, which i am greeting you all with, and also, all the new opportuninties for something better and nicer!

I am still looking for a place where i can work on the car, which is deeming quite impossible lol, so that will continue for the time being. Apart from that, i am thinking, that, while i can't do anything to the car, i might aswell start hoarding bits for the whole future of it. Never hurts to spend the extra cash on parts you don't need haha.

I think i will start collecting the firstly necessary shell restoration panels and some metal parts to make it less of a rust bucket, and then we'll see if i can squeeze some other bits when and while i can for the later stages of the car.

I have already acquired the rear subframe off a nissan 350z that i want to convert it, so whenever i have done the necessary welding on the shell, and also, all the needed strenghtening stuff, that can be added to the car. Oh my it will be interesting.

Anyway, loads of stuff to gather and do, but i need a place to do it all...

Happy new year and best of luck!

Don't CRUSH IT!

There's been a bit of an enlightment yesterday!!

I spoke to the lady that owns the house we lived in, where the garage is...

When we had to leave on a very short notice, i had to leave some 242 parts there, just purely because i didn't have time or room to store it all, and i can get most of them from the UK cars anyway...
But now i can have all that stuff back as she hasn't yet cleaned it all and it's still there.

Good, i won't need to get any of the cross members and other stuff that i might ned to redo or adjust for the different applications to work with different engine/gearbox setup.

Hello there!

I'm still in the same situarion i was before, so just aquick one.

I went to my local car parts shop, that Mike has been operating for the past 25 years, to have a chat to his daughter about some headlight repair solutios they might have and stumbled across a pair of some massive 4 pot brake calipers sitting dusty in the window. Turns out they are for a Mitsubishi l200. Brand new, all sealed up and never touched. They seemed quite big and my silly head started making mockups then and there. Had a chat to the shop, had a think and decided that i need them. So after the pricing inspection and another chat to Mike over the phone the deal was made and i snagged them up for £100 for the pair! Initially the system said they are £136 each!

So yeah, now i got a set of rear calipers for the 242, only need to get the fronts. They will probably be either Range Rover 6 pots or Audi/porsche 6 pots from the big cats. We shall see, still lol.

That's it for now!
