Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
So, I am installing a Bosch alternator from a 142 on my 122. I have a Beru voltage regulator and have identified the terminals.
F- green wire from brushes to regulator F terminal
D+ switched 12V to Alternator D+ and regulator D+
D- from case to regulator D- and to ground
On alternator:
B+...
Looking at the hardware manual for MS3X, I see the CAS inputs- MS3X cam, MS3 crank. These are ?hall sensor open collector?, so will need pull-up resistors. Unsure of where physically to put the resistors-JP7? In the harness from input to ground?
If anyone has done the R brake conversion using the 240 rotor hats for the parking brake- does that affect the R rotor’s position with the caliper? I am using STS Machining caliper brackets and I am curious if that will shift the R rotor the thickness of the 240 hat.
So - my ?81 242 with LS V8 swap has had some clutch/ tranny issues. My setup used a stock Camaro clutch set, with a stock GM AP/ LUK slave cylinder in the bell housing.
I originally used a Wilwood 3/4? master cylinder and an AN-4 clutch line with a GM quick connect at the bell housing. This...
Ok, so I got one. Installation was easy. Fired right up and idled smoothly. Very happy with the quality of the harness. Self tuning. Drove it around while it learned. Seems to be smoother at idle and throttle response is mo? better. I am happy!
Looking for a specific current flow diagram for how the taillights are fed when the light switch is on the headlight position. Green book has a parking/taillight diagram, but omits the headlight-on path to the taillights.
I have taillights in park, none in headlight.
The big Volvo diagram seems...
I have front coilovers with shortened and rethreaded tubes and 8" 250 lb front springs. I have an aluminum LS v8 which is actually lighter than a red block, but a T56 that is huge and heavy, putting more weight to the rear.
MikeJr. Had the same setup in his 242 Group A replica car ( now sold)...
So, I got a G80 with 4.10 ring and pinion from a 16V car at pull-a-part. Originally wanted to swap ring and pinion into a 1031 housing which had 3.73 open diff. The pinion seal was leaking, so had to remove the pinion nut and flange. Then I thought the 3.73 pinion depth was already set, so to...
I took a little spin around the N.Ga. mountains today with my wife in MikeJr.'s 1965 122S. A really nice day with 70* temps. Went to Amicalola Falls, near the start of the AppalachianTrail.
A view west from the top, with Springer Mountain in the distance, the actual start of the trail.
So I have a Plx devices SM-afr Gen 4 wideband with DM-6 dash gauge.
Anyone use this? MS2 suggests wbo2 sensor ground should go with all sensor grounds to pin 7.
However, the Plx has only one power and ground wire to the module. I am unsure if I should do this, because the heater circuit has to...
All you ls swap guys. How did you wire the GM alternator?
Apparently two methods of wiring the excitor are listed. On a GM s l f p 4 wire connector, l is for lamp, and can be connect to a warning light. Alternately ( lol) a 12v source can be connected to F, without a lamp.
My question is: does...
