Ok, So I had read about sticky valves for the whiteblocks a long time ago, but I havent really thought it would happend to me.

After not changing oil for approx 1 year and driving mostly short trips, I started my car on friday. Then I looked at the fuel gauge and it was orange (needs a refill, the car yelled!).

In my mind I thought: damn it, I'll just take the light rail, as I'm just picking up a laptop.
So, I switched off the ignition - approximatly 5-10 seconds after I started the car.

Two days passed and what do I know? Sticky valves!!
I didnt actually know it then and I'm just 99.99% sure now.

The thing is that it would not start.. I checked all the usual suspects.. Found one loose vacuum that must have been what has messed up my cruisecontrol, plugged it in, to no luck..

The car just was "dead", thought the plugs were wet.
In an act of desperation I even tried googling and reading FAQ's and then I stumbled upon what I had once told a friend of mine: sticky valves!

I remembered that my tip to him was actually the right tip.. he had lost the engine compression, due to sticky valves.

He told me he just had to crank, crank, crank, etc. untill it came.
Though not so easy for me, it was.. As yoda would put it, if he were to drive a car.

The thing is that I dont have a garange and my x years old battery was draining quite quickly.

On the top of this, I only have a crappy charger that charges max 9A, nominal 6A.
So, 3 days later, here I am.. The engine, I could feel it.. It wanted to start, but it didnt..
Then suddenly.. brrr..... brr...... brooo.... broooom... it died..
I was so fed up that instead of buying new 19" tires for the summer, I paid off an extra 1000$ on my mortage.

Then that bastard of a car started on me... At first I didnt know what to think, but I instantly sent an SMS to cecilie "jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" (yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees).

She was a bit confused I guess, and I went off to drive the car.
Though at first I didnt know if I dared to move it, as I was not sure that sticky valves was it.

The engine felt as usual and I took it out for a spin, after the temp was where it is supposed to sit. Then I drove at 5000rpm in L for a minute or two.. then drove in D, then went back to L, did the same, etc.

After I had driven like this for a while (not very long), I took a drive in D to let the automatic transmission cool down. Then I drove home and.. yeah.. I thought to my self:

Crap, why did I pay off more on the mortage???
Now I just hope that the car starts tomorrow and I'll do a oilswap ASAP!

Ps. let that be a lesson learned!! NEVER start/stop a whiteblock, let it run warm!!!

My friend did the same btw..
he had swapped struts and drove the car a couple of metres and killed the ignition.. (ps. I think the colder climates are more prone to sticky valves).
