Volk TE-37s (knock-offs) - Question

Hey guys,

Anyone know of a wheel maker that has Volk TE-37s in 5x108 to fit on a 240? As much as I like the look of the BBS LM wheel, I'm in love with the TE-37s. I really want to stay away from spacers as my car will see some track days.

Those are compomotives.

We can get real Te37's made for the Volvo fitment just find me 10 people willing to buy a set.

Varrstoen probably make the closest replica.

Why are spacers bad for track days again?

Let me jump in and say I was told by a very uncredible source (as it seems) that spacers + wheels + road racing = bad idea.

As for price, I can afford the real deals, but I was stating the cheaper option because blkaplan said we'd need 10 for a groups buy... and that is a difficult purchase for wheels that essentially cost more than the value of a running car.

But at any rate, are the quality of esm or varrstoen replicas very good?

Sorry I don't see how road-racing matters. I mean I'd suspect a pothole to do more damage to a spacer setup than driving fast on a racetrack.

I've got the non-hubcentric spacers on my 760 for... over 50k now and nothing has happened.

The Varrstoens haven't been around a long time so hard to say. They will require adapters though for sure, so if you want the "baller" low offset look you're out of luck since you'll need higher offset to compensate for the adapters.

I almost bought a set of TE37's last year when I sold my work and bought the blitz, but I had a hard time finding the sizing I wanted used, and I just can't justify the new price when there are so many people selling their nice used stuff for a fraction of new.

I'd be scared ****less of road racing on one piece alloys that are 800 a corner but that's just me. I'd rather have something 3 piece so i can replace shells or something cheap.

So in that case the varrstoens are a great option. No biggie if you kill one.

your best bet is to swap hubs then that fit and the rear axles can be swapped a put the proper lug pattern on for the wheels

Actually your best bet would be adaptors/ spacers. I've yet to hear of one failure on here. I've ran up to a 42mm spacer with no problems at all.

If you look at both of the Kenny's cars both of them actually are near the top hp producers on this site and linuxman actually wrecked very badly and the spacers held up and the wheels didn't.

Same here, and this has included multiple track days.

to fair to the original poster, there are clubs/events that do not allow the bolt on adapters, it mostly comes from not being able to know for sure that the adapters are tightened correctly. Of course the same clubs would insist or require open lug nuts so that one can see how many threads are exposed...most of these cars would not be driven to the event :)
